ನೋವಿನ ಮೂಟೆ ಹೊತ್ತು ಬಂದ ಅವಧಿಯ ಲೇಖನಗಳನ್ನು ಓದಿ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯೆಲ್ಲಾ ತೊಳಸಿದ ಅನುಭವ!

ಉಷಾ ರೈ

ಸುಮಾರು ಹತ್ತು ವರ್ಷದ ಹಿಂದೆ ಮಹಿಳಾ ದಕ್ಷತಾ ಸಮಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಬಹಳ ಆಕ್ಟಿವ್ ಆಗಿದ್ದೆ. ಆಗ ನಾವು ಲೈಂಗಿಕ ದೌರ್ಜನ್ಯದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕೆಲವು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೆವು. ದೌರ್ಜನ್ಯ ನಡೆಸಿದವನಿಗೆ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆ ಆಗಬೇಕು, ಇನ್ ಹೌಸ್ ತನಿಖೆ ಆಗಬೇಕು ಎನ್ನುವ ಅವಾಹಲನ್ನು ಸರಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದೆವು.

ಸರಕಾರ ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ನಿದ್ದೆಯಲ್ಲೇ ಇರುತ್ತದೆಯಲ್ಲ? ಏನೂ ಆಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.ಆಗ ನಡೆದ ಒಂದು ಸೆಮಿನಾರ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಬರೆದು ಪ್ರಸ್ಥುತ ಪಡಿಸಿದ ಈ ಕವನವನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮೊಡನೆ ಹಂಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆನಿಸಿತು.

ಈ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಗಾಗಿ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಒಂದು ಶಾರ್ಟ್ ಸ್ಟೇ ಹೋಮ್ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಶೋಷಿತರಿಗೆ ಆಶ್ರಯ ನೀಡುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಅವರ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿಗಾಗಿ ಶ್ರಮಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಕೌನ್ಸಿಲಿಂಗ್ ಸೆಂಟರ್ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಮಕ್ಕಳ ವಿಧ್ಯೆಗಾಗಿ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದೆ. ನನಗೀಗ ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಲು ಆಗದೆ ಅದರಿಂದ ದೂರ ಉಳಿದಿರುವೆನಾದರೂ ಅದರ ಸದಸ್ಯೆ ಆಗಿ ಉಳಿದಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ನನ್ನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾದಷ್ಟು ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಸಹಾಯವನ್ನಷ್ಟೇ ಮಾಡುವುದು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ. ಅದರ ಕಚೇರಿ ಇರುವುದು ಸಂಜಯನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ.

They are the crushed roses,

Crushed before blooming.

They are the victims of

The ghastly acts of few men

Who have lost their senses.

They are the victims,

But they are the survivors.

They need our help.

They never had the chance to speak,

They never got justice,

They never had the chance to heal.

It is not their fault,

Still, they are the sufferers.

They are like any one of us

But, they are the victims.

Allow them to speak

Listen to them, don’t judge

Give them comfort, offer shelter

Help them to seek justice

Help them to come out of their nightmare

That is the least we can do for them.

They are raped.

It is not their fault,

They have to live

They are the survivors
