ಉಡುಪಿಯ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಮಠ ಮತ್ತು ಮತ್ತು ಮಣಿಪಾಲ ವಿ. ವಿ ಗಳಿಂದಾಗಿ ಉಡುಪಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಮನ ಸೆಳೆವ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆ. ಮಣಿಪಾಲ ರಜತಾದ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಕಛೇರಿ ಮತ್ತು ಉಡುಪಿ ಮತ್ತು ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಗ್ರಾಮಗಳಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ರಸ್ತೆಗಳು, ಸರಕಾರಿ- ಖಾಸಗಿ ಸಿಟಿ ಬಸ್ಸುಗಳು- ಈ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಪ್ರಶಂಸಾರ್ಹ ಸಾಧನೆಗಳು.
ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಎಲ್ಲೆಡೆ ತಲೆ ಎತ್ತುತ್ತಿರುವ ಬಹುಮಹಡಿ ಪ್ಲಾಟ್ ಗಳು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ದಿಯ ವೇಗ- ಅತಿರೇಕ ಗಳನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತಿವೆ.
ಪಡುಬಿದ್ರೆಯ ಉಷ್ಣ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಸ್ಥಾವರ, ಉಡುಪಿ ನಗರದ ಟೌನ್ ಹಾಲ್ ಖಾಸಗಿಯವರಿಗೆ ಗುತ್ತಿಗೆ ನೀಡಿರುವುದು, ಉಡುಪಿಯ ಸರಕಾರಿ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆ ಖಾಸಗೀಕರಣ ಉಡುಪಿಯ ಅನಿಷ್ಟ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳು
ಡಾ ವಿ. ಎಸ್. ಆಚಾರ್ಯರ ಕನಸಿನ , ಮಣಿಪಾಲದ ಶಿವರಾಮ ಕಾರಂತ ಕಲಾಗ್ರಾಮ ಅಲಕ್ಶಿತವಾಗಿದೆ. ಶಿಕ್ಷಣಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ದವಾದ ಉಡುಪಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಅನುದಾನಿತ ಮತ್ತು ಸರಕಾರಿ ಕಾಲೇಜುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆರಳೆಣಿಕೆಯ ಖಾಯಂ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕರು , ನೂರಾರು ಅರೆಕಾಲಿಕ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಕರು ಇರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರಕಾರದ ಅಪ್ರಬುದ್ದ ಉನ್ನತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಧೋರಣೆ ಕಾರಣ. 2500 ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿಯರು ಇರುವ ಉಡುಪಿಯ ಸರಕಾರಿ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಮಿನಿ ಸಭಾಭವನವೂ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಕೇಂದ್ರವಾದ ಉಡುಪಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ರಂಗಮಂದಿರ ಇಲ್ಲ .
ಮರಳಿನ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಯ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಅಕ್ರಮ ಮರಳುಗಾರಿಗೆ ಅಪಾಯಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆದಿದೆ. ವಲಸೆ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಡಳಿತ್ಯ ಸ್ಪಂದಿಸಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ .
ಪಡುಕೆರೆ -ಕಾಪು , ಹೂಡೆ- ಕೆಮ್ಮಣ್ಣು ಹೂಡೆ ಬೆಂಗ್ರೆ , ಮರವಂತೆ ಬೀಚ್ ಗಳನ್ನು ಅಂತಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ದಿಪಡಿಸಬೇಕು. ನೀರಿನ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಯತ್ತ ತುರ್ತು ಗಮನ ಅಗತ್ಯ.
ಅಲೆವೂರು ಹೊಳೆಗೆ ಆಣೆಕಟ್ಟು , ಸಮುದ್ರದ ನೀರನ್ನು ಶುದ್ದೀಕರಿಸುವ ಘಟಕ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಡಳಿತದ ಆದ್ಯತೆಗಳಾಗಬೇಕು..
ಉಡುಪಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಕನಸು ನನಸಾಗಿಸಲು ಶ್ರಮಿಸಿದ ಎಲ್ಲ ಜನ ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಗಳಿಗೆ , ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಭಿನಂದನೆಗಳು.
Dear Mr. Upadhya,
It is good that you have mentioned all the good things happened and should happen to Udupi. But you have failed to note the quantum of damage we have done to the environment and mother nature.
Take for example the photo you have displayed, look at the damage caused by expansion of fishing harbour. I am not saying that the extension of harbour was not required. Yes, it was required. But look at the back waters and mangroves and other plantations damaged by pouring the sand dredged from the this extended portion. (See the white patches on the photo) There are many other areas which is not visible in this photo. Go to google earth and see the comparisons with respect to the situations in last 5 years.
I too appreciate the good works and the development works. But we should also think about our mother earth. Else we all will pay the penalty one day. Udupi has already started facing the problem of water shortage and sand mafia. Also, look at the growth in corruption!! …….Mind you Sir, this is just the beginning.
Hence, my request to you intellectuals is to talk also about such issues and spread awareness.

ಎಲ್ಲ ಊರುಗಳ ಕತೆಯೂ ಇದೇ ಆಗಿದೆಯಲ್ಲ! ಉಡುಪಿ ಎಂದಿದ್ದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಂಗಳೂರು, ಕಾಸರಗೋಡು ಎಂದು ಸೇರಿಸಿದರೆ ಸಾಕು.ನಾನು ಗಮನಿಸಿದಂತೆ ಪರಿಸರನಾಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವಿದ್ಯಾವಂತರಿಗಿಂತ ವಿದ್ಯಾವಂತರೆನಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವರ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚು.ಕೊಳ್ಳುಬಾಕತನದ ಪರಾಕಾಷ್ಟೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟಿದ ನಮ್ಮರಾಕ್ಷಸದಾಹಕ್ಕೆ ಈ ಭೂಮಿಯೇ ಸಾಕಾಗಲಾರದು.ಹಿರಣ್ಯಾಕ್ಷ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಮಡಚಿ ಕದ್ದೊಯ್ದನಂತೆ ನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಈ ಪುರಾಣಪ್ರತಿಮೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಭೋಗಾಭಿಲಾಷೆಗೆ ಸರಿಹೊಂದುತ್ತದೆ.
ಉಡುಪಿಯ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಶ್ರೀ ಮಧ್ವಾಚಾರ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ್ದು ಮಲ್ಪೆಯ ಕಡಲ ಕಿನಾರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ . ಈಗ ಉಡುಪಿಯವರು ಕಡಲ ನೀರು ಶುದ್ದೀಕರಿಸಿ ಕುಡಿವ ದುಸ್ಥಿತಿಗೆ ತಲುಪಲು ಪರಿಸರ ನಾಶ ಅತಿರೇಕಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿರುವುದು ಕಾರಣವಲ್ಲವೇ ?
