‘ತಿಥಿ’ ಸಿನೆಮಾ ಬಂದಿದ್ದು, ದೇಶ ವಿದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಕ್ತ ಪ್ರಶಂಸೆಗೆ ಪಾತ್ರವಾಗಿದ್ದೂ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಗೊತ್ತು 

ತಿಥಿಯ ಕಲಾವಿದರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಜನಮಾನಸ ಹೊಕ್ಕು ನಿಂತರು 

ಆಮೇಲೆ..?

ಆಮೇಲೆ ‘ತರ್ಲೆ ವಿಲೇಜ್’ ಅನೌನ್ಸ್ ಆಯಿತು 

ಅದೇ ತಿಥಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ, ಜನ ಕಣ್ಣರಳಿಸಿ ನೋಡಿದ್ದ ಕಲಾವಿದರೇ 

ಆದರೆ..

ಇಲ್ಲಿ ತಿಥಿ ಹಿಂದಿನ ಮುಖ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬರಾದ ಈರೇಗೌಡ ಸಿನೆಮಾ ಹೆಸರು ಹೇಳದೆ ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡ ನೋವು ಇಲ್ಲಿದೆ 

ಒಂದೇ ಮಾತಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಳುವುದಾದರೆ ‘ನನಗೆ ಅಳುವಂತಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ’ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ.

I am deeply disturbed after seeing how the actors of Thithi have been recently misused and misappropriated in recent Kannada films.

They have been made to copy their own roles that they played in Thithi, not even changing their character names – for which they won international fame as well as appreciation – in such a way that one can now only cringe at the crassness and vulgarity of the jokes and the manner in which they have been depicted.

I feel helpless because I can do nothing to stop this. But I also feel sad that these nonprofessional actors are being used in this way.

In ‘Thithi’ these people played characters true to life, and the film making team as well as producers really did everything to care for the actors, and to preserve their image as well as self respect. In Thithi we tried to show the world the talent and humanity of these people. They were not a joke. I hope the directors and producers of the upcoming Kannada films will take care in the same way.

Lastly, I request NOT to be credited in any of these films using the actors from ‘Thithi’ – I do not want special thanks, or any such acknowledgement. I have absolutely nothing to do with these films, and do not want to be associated with them in any way even indirectly – as any such acknowledgement would be false.

I feel like crying.
