ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯೆ

ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಟರಾಜ ಹುಳಿಯಾರ್ ಅವರು ಬರೆದ ವಿಮರ್ಶೆಯಿಲ್ಲದ ಮೀಡಿಯಾ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ಎಂಬ ಲೇಖನ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿದ್ದೆವು.

(ಲೇಖನದ ಕೊಂಡಿ ಇಲ್ಲಿದೆ).  ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡನ್ನು ಆರಿಸಿ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ.

Somebody had to say it and you said it! An excellent analysis. The concept of media should also include website journals and all social websites that are promoting uncritical knee-jerk responses. Unfortunately, this has entered literature and now we have no way to allow ourselves to be influenced by writings. Has anyone the time to read War and Peace? Writings are becoming shorter and shorter–hit and go kind of things. So from the readers it is either is either mindless eulogy or irresponsible condemnation. Neither the media nor the readers/viwers in general want anything ‘difficult’or complex since such things disturb them. Remember the chorus in Eliot’s Murder in the Cathedral? Leave us alone–is the cry.

“…ಅದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮಿಗಿಲಾಗಿ ಈ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಗಳ ಮೂಕ ವೀಕ್ಷಕರಂತಿರುವ ಕೋಟ್ಯಂತರ ಜನರ ಸಹಜ ನೈತಿಕತೆ ಕೂಡ ಈ ಉತ್ಪಾದಿತ ಸುಳ್ಳುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಂಡು   ಅಸಹ್ಯಪಡುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಹೀಗೆ ಅಸಹ್ಯ ಪಡುವವರ ಸಂತತಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ಮಾಡುವುದೇ ‘ಏನು ಬೇಕಾದರೂ ಆಗಬಹುದು’ ಎಂಬ ಈ ನವ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಗಳ ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕರ ಠೇಂಕಾರವನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸುವ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆ ಎನ್ನಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.”

ನನಗನಿಸಿದ ಮಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಇದೇ ಸರಿಯಾದ ವಿಚಾರ.ಮೇಲಾಟಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಂತವರಂತೆ ಮಾನಸಿಕವಾಗಿಯೋ,ಭೌತಿಕವಾಗಿಯೋ ಭ್ರಷ್ಟರಾಗುತ್ತ ನಡೆದು,ಆ ಕುರಿತು ಅಳುಕು-ನಾಚಿಕೆ ಇರುವದು ದೂರ ಉಳಿಯಿತು,ಭ್ರಷ್ಟ ವಿಧಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ತಾವು ಸಾಧಿಸಿದ ’ಯಶಸ್ಸ’ನ್ನೇ ಭುಜಕೀರ್ತಿಯಂತೆ ಭಾವಿಸಿರುವ ಖೂಳರ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಎಲ್ಲ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚುತ್ತಿರುವ ವೇಗ ನೋಡಿದರೆ ಗಾಬರಿಯಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
