ನಿನ್ನೆ ‘ಎಂಗೆಯುಂ-ಎಪ್ಪುದುಂ’ ಎಂಬ ತಮಿಳು ಸಿನಿಮಾ ನೋಡಿದೆ. ಭಾರತೀಯ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಪರೂಪ ಎನ್ನಿಸುವ ಪ್ರಯೋಗ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ‘ಅಮರೋಸ್‌ ಪೆರೋಸ್’, ‘ಬರಾನ್’ ನಂತಹ ಸಿನಿಮಾಗಳ ಛಾಯೆ ಕಂಡರೂ ಅದನ್ನು ಭಾರತೀಯವಾಗಿಸಿರುವ ರೀತಿ ಮತ್ತು ದೃಶ್ಯಗಳ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿದೆ. ‘ಈ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಸೂಪರ್ ಹಿಟ್ ಆಗಿದೆ’ ಎಂದರು. ಹೀಗೆ ಹಾಡು-ಫೈಟು ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸಿನಿಮ ತಯಾರಾಗುವ ಕಾಲ ಬೇಗ ಬರಲಿ ಎಂದು ಹಾರೈಸುವ!

‘Engeyum, eppodhum'(Anywhere Anytime) is a Tamil romantic drama film written and directed by newcomer M. Saravanan. Starring Jai, Anjali, Ananya and Sharvanand, it is produced by A. R. Murugadoss in association with Fox Studios, marking the studio’s entry into Tamil cinema. Engeyum Eppodhum illustrates two love stories—one set against the backdrop of Chennai and the other in Tiruchi—which join together in the climax.

The film focuses on two separate love stories in Chennai; one takes place in the period of a day, while the other ensues for months.

Amudha (Ananya), a naive village girl from Trichy arrives in Chennai for a job interview, but her sister is unable to meet her and direct her to her destination. Amudha enlists the aid of a complete stranger Gautham (Sharvanand), who agrees to take her as far as the bus stop. Due to circumstances, however, he ends up hesitatingly travelling with her the entire day, waiting for her during her interview, and finally dropping her at her sister’s home at the end of the day. In the course of their adventures, she comes to understand him as a person and becomes fond of him, and, despite remaining calm and reserved, Gautham also reciprocates her feelings. The next day Amudha returns to Trichy, where she realizes she has fallen in love with him even though she doesn’t know his name, rejecting other marriage proposals that come her way. She eventually decides to return to Chennai to meet him. Meanwhile Gautham realizes that he has fallen in love with Amudha and going trichy to find her without knowing of address and other any details except her name.

A parallel story follows Kathiresan (Jai), a metal shop worker, who harbor love towards his neighbor Manimegalai (Anjali), a nurse. Being shy and soft-spoken, he doesn’t talk to her, but continues to watch her every morning for six months. Manimegalai, however, is more bold and forthcoming; she agrees to his love and orders him around mercilessly. She puts him through several tests; having him meet her father (a policeman), her former one-side lover(himself only), and finally performs a HIV test on his blood. She explains that she did it for him to decide if he can really spend his life with her; Kathiresan responds affirmatively. The two grow to love each other unconditionally with the consent of their families. The story moves on to climax from here.
