Our film “Let The Butterflies Fly” won the best film award under Feature Length Documentary category at the “Kashish Mumbai International Film Festival” held in Mumbai between 23 – 27 May, 2012.

The film captures the story of Shilpa, a hijra who faced severe police torture and abuse from medical establishment, who tried to make her a “man” by force. This film captures the every day life of hijra’s- pain, struggles, joy, celebration, relationships work through Shilpa’s story.
