PANIGHAZ

Panighaz is a percussion band based in Bangalore. “Panigha” is a Sanskrit word which means ‘the drummer who plays instruments with hands or fingers’. Hence the name is derived as PANIGHAZ. The band was founded in the year 2011 by members Kabir Manav and Venkat Aranthady who were very passionate about drum beats and had a mutual interest in the Percussion play. Currently Panighaz is a 7 member band including passionate and talented drummers like Kabir Manav, Venkat Aranthady, Anjoe Jacob, Arjun Kaje, Dinesh Bhat , Shailesh Rai, Dhanush Jain. The Band initially started off by performing at corporate parties growing towards performing at Public events and playing at Pubs and also entertaining the crowds by performing Flash Mobs. Panighaz is very special when it comes to the world of percussions because of it’s innovative way of approach towards music by not just sticking on to one Genre but experimenting with different kind of music with different instruments from around the world and ability to entertain people with their variety of skills in percussions. Instruments which are used by the band goes like Djembe from West Africa, Darbuka from Arabian countries, Kanjeera, Taase , Dhol South Indian instruments, Chimes , tambourine , Taala, Bongo, Congo, Doumbek, Maracas from Native America, etc,.  ]]>
